First C-Band Dish Need Motor Suggestions Wed, 22 Jan 2025 18:54:57 +0000 https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/first-c-band-dish-need-motor-suggestions.414220/ 414220 invalid@example.com (card13) card13 I just got a used fiberglass 8ft Offset dish. I had a 90CM Geosat KU dish with USALS Motor, which worked well till our most recent windstorm where it damaged the motor. I picked up this new to me dish and would like to motorize it. The LNB Mount is at a friends so that will be re-attached before end of month, I also have a C/KU LNB on order.

Testing the Titanium C140 and C240 5G Filtered BLUE LNBFs Fri, 03 Jan 2025 07:40:01 +0000 https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/testing-the-titanium-c140-and-c240-5g-filtered-blue-lnbfs.413642/ 413642 invalid@example.com (N6BY) N6BY I recently received the new C140 and C240 5G filtered BLUE LNBFs from Titanium Satellite https://titaniumsatellite.com/products.php

The C140 has one output and the C240 has two. The pass band for both LNBFs is from 4,000 to 4,200 MHz. Most North American satellites have moved all of their transponders to this 200 MHz frequency range, with the exception of 115W and 117W which are intended for Mexico.

This first signal graph is from an older LNBF that has a pass band of 3,800 to 4,200...

Yet again! No horizontal on ses 1 at 101 Mon, 30 Dec 2024 20:20:09 +0000 https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/yet-again-no-horizontal-on-ses-1-at-101.413277/ 413277 invalid@example.com (tiredold) tiredold I replaced the LNB with a Titanium dual (incredible), new coax, realigned feedhorn. Everything worked great!! Signal 91, quality 84 (on horizontals) 40 on verticals. That is until I noticed today. Two recievers. One shows nothing on horizantals, the other shows 91, but both show 0 on quality. Everything is good on satellites on either side. Rescanned, cursed, everything I can think of. No joy. I would appreciate any help.

Testing the new Titanium C138 Performance Plus C Band LNBF Wed, 11 Dec 2024 04:09:24 +0000 https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/testing-the-new-titanium-c138-performance-plus-c-band-lnbf.403933/ 403933 invalid@example.com (N6BY) N6BY Brian sent me the new C138 Performance Plus (available now at titaniumsatellite.com ) with improved 5G filtering. Today I compared it with the original C138 on several satellites.

As you can see on the spectrum scans below (of 127W), there is a marked difference in the amount of filtering below 3800 MHz. The first one below is the original C138 and the second is the new version.

MeTV Sun, 08 Dec 2024 21:27:50 +0000 https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/metv.413576/ 413576 invalid@example.com (wvman) wvman After a few days of snow, my dishes were covered and being unable to sweep them off due to having surgery on my foot, I woke up today to a loss of MeTV and several other channels that were FTA prior to the snow.

I'm showing MeTV now being scrambled using BISS Key. I retuned my receiver, and they are still showing encrypted. Have we lost these channels or is my receiver having a brain fart? Is anyone else experiencing this loss of channels.]]>

Bob (Robert Britt Cooper, Jr) was the father of the home satellite industry, and we all owe him a debt of gratitude for planting the seeds that started this industry, starting with an article in TV Guide magazine back in 1978. I considered him a great friend and mentor, ever since attending a trade show in Houston back in November 1980. He will be greatly missed.

C Band back up after 18 months Fri, 22 Nov 2024 21:51:10 +0000 https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/c-band-back-up-after-18-months.413255/ 413255 invalid@example.com (Corrado) Corrado I finally got my C band back up and running today. I haven't been active here in quite some time and started to take things down due to my 5G interference up on the hill here.

Thanks to Brian I once again have C band after installing a Titanium C238 LNBF with the red filtering. It works great!

Running perfectly, no breakups all afternoon. It was completely unwatchable before with frozen screens of dancing pixels and bits of audio.]]>

I have a 10’ Unimesh dish that I recently acquired and finally got installed, and I am trying to work out what I need to do to use it.

It has a Chaparral C band feedhorn and LNB on it, but I don’t think the LNB is working, since I found the waveguide and feedhorn was full of water. I want to replace it anyway with a Co-Rotor II for C and Ku band since from what I can find, the Unimesh dish is usable for both given the mesh diameter.

What I am hitching on is what gear...
