TBS5580 - Third time's the charm?Mon, 24 Jun 2024 12:36:18 +0000

410918invalid@example.com (ancient)ancientAfter the failures with the TBS6910SE and the TBS6903X, I tried a USB connected tuner, specifically the TBS5580. Same dish, same LNB, connected to the same Tvheadend backend, but this time it appears to be working with no signs of the "interference" that plagued the TBX6903X. Unlike the USB model it replaced (the TBS5520se), the TBS5580 comes with a 12 volt power supply and input jack. Therefore, it is not dependent on the USB connection for power (which was apparently an issue with...

410854invalid@example.com (ancient)ancientSo for those who saw my previous post, TBS6910SE with Tvheadend: Total failure to receive, I just wanted to say that I returned that card and got a TBS 6903-X professional instead. Preliminary results are it does work, including for DVB-S2X. Here are the settings I used in Tvheadend to receive the signal we all want on 97°W:
Delivery system: DVB-S2
Frequency (kHz): 4120000
Symbol rate (Sym/s): 34286000
Polarization: V
Modulation: 16APSK
FEC: 25/36
Nothing was changed in the...

410753invalid@example.com (ancient)ancientI tried a TBS6910SE tuner card today, the intent was that we could receive ABC's new DVB-S2X signal. I had to remove an existing card to make room for the new one so I removed one that was connected to a disk pointed at Galaxy 19 at 97° and also to a second C-band dish pointed at another satellite. The first problem is that Tvheadend doesn't seem to have any settings for DVB-S2X, so I tried using DVB-S2, but also it doesn't have a setting for the 25/36 FEC now used by ABC. I did find that...

This in my email this morning, looks like it does ATSC1 on 2 antenna ports. Too bad it doesn't do ATSC3, but not much of that around yet especially up here. I didn't post a link I am sure google will find it.
Hope CrazyCat is doing ok, thinking about his situation.

https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/tbs-8922-problem-solved.402569/
402569invalid@example.com (pacificrim)pacificrimI reinstalled my Home Theatre PC after many years and then ran into a big problem - neither DVB Dream or ProgDVB would work properly with my TBS 8922 PCI card. The TBS Blind Scan tool would work - lock and scan and find channels but DVB Dream and ProgDVB would lock but not find any channels. This was with the drivers available from the TBS website and the current build of Windows 10.
I looked up the problem and couldn't find a solution that worked or made sense from the DVB Dream forums. A...

391683invalid@example.com (Comptech)ComptechOK, so I have to wait until fall to see 125W. Love the music choice channels. Well it's here and motored over ther. I am using a TBS5927 that is supposed to do ACM. Tried DVBDream and DVBViewer. I could not scan in anything on that TP. Pulled the TBS5520SE of of Linux and put it on the windows machine. Scanned all the MC channels in fine and they play fine in DVBViewer but not in DVBDream. Dream tries, but can't pull it off. I know I am a little weak with a 14.8 SNR on a ACM signal, but is...

393565invalid@example.com (Comptech)ComptechSo me being the tinker type guy, buys a refurbished Lenovo M939 tiny I5 from amazon for less than $200. Got it today and will say it is incredible. Comes with all peripherals. The wifi adapter did not work, but have spares here. Has windows 10 pro on it, witch activated fine, did the windows updates and plugged in my TBS5927. Everthing plays fine in DVBDream and the unt is tucked behind the TV out of site. Best $200 I have spent in awhile, playing at 4k with no hiccups.]]>33Older DriversTue, 23 Mar 2021 08:35:36 +0000

392463invalid@example.com (Comptech)ComptechI forgot I had a Prof7500 and dug it up. I can not find the power adapter. It calls for 7.5 volts at 3.5 amps. Don't know that I need that amperage as I won't be moving a dish with it. I hooked it up to a pyramid power supply and the tuner works great. Just what I need for my Pi400 running arch linux. Only TBS card I have that will work with Arch is my 5520SE and it is iffy. The 7500 works fantastic but the power supply is a little overkill, a tuner the size of a pack of cigs, but a power...
