Well that changed yesterday when I picked up a real nice Icom IC-735 transceiver at a hamfest. My first SS base transceiver. Let's see, I went from 100 lb transmitters to 11 lbs. Almost threw it over my shoulder it picked up so easy. Came with a nearly new Heil Silver ICM mic and stand. I've got her up and receiving but not...

I want to purchase a Nano VNA and a HackRF SDR from China. I know that the quality and performance of these devices vary widely from manufacturer to manufacturer and am looking for user feedback on which manufacturers/online stores to avoid. I would like units that operate up to 6 Ghz. as there is a lot of interesting stuff going on in that end of the spectrum.

I'd purchase the US made HackRF but I just can't afford...

Well I want to change that in 2024!

Our local police department is moving to our states digital system next month and I have been working with our police department to get ready for the move, as I am the one who streams their radios online to Broadcastify. They put up a test feed for me and I was having trouble...

How to unstick a Von Weise actuator Tue, 26 Dec 2023 01:48:08 +0000 https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/how-to-unstick-a-von-weise-actuator.407656/ 407656 invalid@example.com (nwchris) nwchris I've got an old C band 11 foot mesh dish that I want to use for 1296 MHz moon bounce. I once used it for C band, and it has not moved for 20 years so it seems stuck. I am wondering how to safely get it apart. It says Von Weise on the motor, and Uniden UST 705 on the plastic rain cover.
When I put 12 volts on the 36 volt motor both ways and it jerks like it wants to move. It looks the same as this one from another post:

Tune in 27.700 MHz, SSTV CB! Wed, 22 Feb 2023 00:37:30 +0000 https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/tune-in-27-700-mhz-sstv-cb.401895/ 401895 invalid@example.com (N5XZS) N5XZS Just out of curiosity to see what SSTV CB activity is like on so called free band on 27.700 MHz.

Seems more diversity and fresh new pictures compared on 20 and 10 meter SSTV.

Some ham guys keep sending same pictures over and over, gets tiring to say at least.

It's a shame SSTV not legal on U.S. 11 meter band on legal frequency instead of rouge freehand frequency ranges covering from 27.405 to 28.000 MHz.

Some European countries allow CB SSTV and some other not.

I also noticed ham Tech...
