20340invalid@example.com (VOOMCSA)VOOMCSAIf you are wondering why your service with VOOM may have not been a pleasent one here's why:
Why Customer service Represenatives (CSA) aren't very smart.
VOOM subcontracts itself to three call centers in the US, 2 in Spokane (Customer service), and one in San Antonio (Sales). When VOOM started there was a big to do and all the Customer service represenatives were trained by VOOM, Motorola, and Convergys (The company who created the software your account is on). Later classes were...

27919invalid@example.com (Sean Mota)Sean MotaSince 3/2/05 when all Channels went online using the New Harmonic Encoders, the PQ (picture quality) has suffered a lot. What used to be compatible with other providers is now under. The motion artifacts on channels like Rush, WorldSport, Equator, etc and the fading artifacts (whenever their is a cut in frame) makes it very difficult to watch programs. Most of the movie HD channels look fine until there is a scene with big explosion or high motion. I am not even talking about the SD...

39096invalid@example.com (stevenkelly)stevenkellySince there are strength in numbers, I would invite all VOOM subscribers who are aware of the audio synchronization problems on such channels as GUYTV, MONSTER, and ANIMATION to e-mail or phone Dish Network's tech department and complain.
From what I've noticed, the audio on these channels often (but not always) precedes the image by a split second. Sometimes it's subtle, other times it's quite obvious. Research indicates that this has been a problem in the past.
I phoned their...

38821invalid@example.com (cablewithaview)cablewithaviewIf there is ever a chance of Voom HD 21 being offered on c band then you need to contact them and let them to make it available. don't wait until they launch nationally and complain about it if they go power vu or megapipe. email them: findoutmore@voomhd.com getvoom@voomhd.com cdolan@voom.com
even contact NPS and have them to work with them on this matter.
ask them to offer it in Digicipher II mode WITHOUT the megapipe.]]>2OTA HDTV Tuner integrationThu, 18 Aug 2005 15:20:32 +0000
https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/ota-hdtv-tuner-integration.38025/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss
38025invalid@example.com (cableghost)cableghostI have Dish Network as a service provider and have a DTV w/o a HD Tuner and looking to purchase a OTA HD tuner to receive my local channels in HD .
If I purchase any one of the many hdtv ota tuners (such as the voom tuners I've seen recently) can I integrate it into my existing system so that I would still only use 1 remote control to flip through channels regardless of which piece of hardware is receiving the signal?
Second, how would I connect this new tuner to my home...

37229invalid@example.com (sraider)sraiderI have the VOOM receivers and the powered antenna that I received from VOOM. I am receiving signals from the stations but receivers will not present programming in HDTV. I can get the shrunken version when I use the lesser quality video outputs from the receiver.
The signal strenghts are well into the green 95+. Any help or explanation would be helpful]]>4Voom Ota Better Than Dish 811Fri, 24 Jun 2005 18:18:56 +0000

34183invalid@example.com (kcribb1)kcribb1I subscribed to Dish after the demise of VOOM. After hooking my 811 receiver up and comparing the strenghts and weaknesses of the Voom receiver, I can honestly say the VOOM receiver pulls in more OTA channels than my 811 receiver. I have a difficult time obtaining my local FOX and NBC broadcast on the 811. I re-connected my VOOM receiver using the same antenna but with much better results. What's the deal with the 811?]]>2This reminds me of a twilight zone episodeThu, 12 May 2005 22:28:32 +0000

31089invalid@example.com (sjones)sjonesWell I switched to twc digipic 4000 with HD package and with the cable cards for both of my hdtv's and I am very displeased. SD channels in voom looked so much clearer than the channels i am getting from twc. HD channels still look decent but not nearly as good as they did with voom. I am pleased with the cable cards though, all of the features of my tv are available which is what i wanted. I miss voom already.]]>3Use for VOOM receiver other than OTA?Mon, 09 May 2005 17:00:05 +0000

31653invalid@example.com (bookwalk)bookwalkOther than OTA tuner (HD), what could be some other uses for the DSR550? Any geeks have some idea on some of the unused interfaces, cards--wasn't there a USB connector? (No, not interested in door stop ideas, but electronic uses).

28503invalid@example.com (cracka)crackaAs Scott has mentioned, the DVR is close, despite the lack of official information from VoOm.
As a company, VoOm seems to be interested in sending signals that it isn't going anywhere anytime soon. In the spirit of that, why not institute an early sign-up program for the DVR for existing customers?
This would satiate, even if slightly, the rabid hunger for the product among current customers, and it might even encourage a few of those waiting on the DVR fence to sign up now so they...

31191invalid@example.com (lombana)lombanaFellow Voomers and HD junkies, I'm reading a lot of hatred on these boards and want to suggest something which might make a few think.
I was a Voomer for only 3 months, got my system when I moved west to Phoenix and dropped DirecTV after being a very loyal sub since year #1 !!!
Around the 15th of April I pulled the plug on all my Voom boxes and plugged in Cox Cable Phoenix, I got 3 rooms, 3 boxes, all DVR's, 2 HD, 1 SD and didn't have to pay 1 cent for any of it.
