Problems with local channels over OTA antenna Thu, 23 Mar 2006 22:47:22 +0000 https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/problems-with-local-channels-over-ota-antenna.8071/ 8071 invalid@example.com (flipcody) flipcody Hello,

I recently upgraded to Voom and it is my first HD experience since buying my HDTV over 3 years ago. I love it. I have waited for my cable company to bring HD to me for well over 2 years and I was tired of waiting. I'm very happy with Voom. My wife was very sceptical about HDTV until she watched some HD programing. We watched the Lakers/Timber Wolves game last night on TNT HD and she was blown away. She (and I) can not believe the difference. My son loves the Discovery HD channel...

Houston Voom - No OTA Signal Running "Aim Outdoor Antenna" Sun, 15 Jan 2006 18:32:31 +0000 https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/houston-voom-no-ota-signal-running-aim-outdoor-antenna.50416/ 50416 invalid@example.com (Airwaves) Airwaves
I'm in Houston and I've bought 2 Vooms that won’t register any signal when I run “Aim Outdoor Antenna” and plug in any of the RF channel #’s listed through antennaweb.org (just a beeping noise) and, since this doesn’t register, won’t pick up any channels when “Scan Local Channels” is run.
I have 3 other HDTV Receivers (Zenith, Hughes and Accurian) that work fine with both the outdoor antenna and a Terk HDTVi powered indoor antenna. The antennas are both aimed at the...

6.1
8.1
8.2
8.3
13.1
13.2
20.1
20.2
59.1

Nine out of the Fifteen listed on my PG. (Not too bad) Is anyone getting any of the others? I'd love to get 4.1 - the Pacers were playing last night and I couldn't watch! :( My installer said the he hasn't known anyone to get 4.1. Maybe in the future ..... I thought I'd start this thread for all the Hoosiers out there.

Cheers,

Boston OTA and dish 811 for voom Tue, 02 Aug 2005 20:03:33 +0000 https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/boston-ota-and-dish-811-for-voom.31805/ 31805 invalid@example.com (philhu) philhu Anyone in Boston switch to dish/voom hd using an 811 rcvr?

I scanned/added the local digitals using the voom antenna. Worked fine.

They all show no guide data, and I know psip data is there.

I also know that the 811 does use it, since channel 44-01 had a 3 hours block of listings for last night in the OTA channel guide.

How do I load it? Do I have to turn the rcvr off to get it to load?

Anyone know?]]>

I called up Voom's Toll-Free number last Friday and I've been told that my install date will be this coming Monday. Any idea who the installer might be here in Sacto? The CSR from Voom didn't gave me any information on who the installer would be, if there are already Voomers here in Sacto, please reply on how your install went, and how Voom works for you. Thanks!]]> 59 Report channels missing from the Super-DMA Fri, 13 May 2005 20:40:26 +0000 https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/report-channels-missing-from-the-super-dma.25147/ 25147 invalid@example.com (Ilya) Ilya IMPORTANT: If your OTA channel map has been already updated to the new Super-DMA map and you are already getting program listings for new channels, please verify that you are getting PG listings for all of your channels. Anyway, how do I find which E* Sat my locals on? Also, while I do not specifically care to receive them...there are 2 or 3 PBS channels that require 2nd dish. I'm in the the Washington DC area and noticed that some of my neighbors have two dishes: one pointing 110-119'ish and the other pointing towards 61.5.

Can I assume the bulk of programming is coming from 110-119???
Can I...

We in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex were big
suporters of VOOM. It is regretable that something
so good is not able to survive.

We enjoyed the initiative and innovation of VOOM.
The inspiring, thoughtful and truly moving programs on
VOOM were many steps ahead of programming offered
by the other two satellite providers. Very little HD programming
is available there --- now contrast that with VOOMS 21 HD channels
with state-of-art HD, with a system DESIGNED for the...

My only concern at this point is the mapping of the local channels. KDKA-DT doesn't remap itself to ch.2, but uses it's DTV channel 25. I'm worried that the Voom receiver will ignore it and on ch.2 I'll get a blank screen.

I am glad Voom will let me use my current outdoor antenna since I already receive KDKA(DT)...
