Ok, I'm more than pissed at my installation. I'm in Nashville TN. First they were supposed to be there before noon, then at 11am they called to say it would be between 3-5pm. I couldn't be there, so my wife stayed home. I get home and find my drop ceiling tiles not replaced, coax hanging out of the ceiling, they spliced into the existing coax in 3 places (2 hanging out of ceiling), left only 1 remote for 3 receivers, didn't hook up my only HDTV connection...
I have a simple question. I have never had a multi room sat receiver hookup - just a single room. If I get a DISH three room set up - will the installer use my existing cable lines that run to the three rooms? (Split after coming out of the dish).
Cheers,

16529invalid@example.com (korsjs)korsjssince the end is near, i am wondering if the voom equipment, dishes to be exact, will be worth buying up after the company folds. can the dishes be used for dish or direct? i know the receivers will pretty much be trash. I am just trying to figure out what to buy up to resell when i hit the garage sales after the voom failure.]]>8Splitting My Voom Off Air Antenna?Sat, 30 Apr 2005 22:46:46 +0000

29036invalid@example.com (ChrisDuncan)ChrisDuncanI'm getting 2 more receivers tomorrow. I've ran all the wiring and been using my current box at 2 different locations. Here's my install question.
My Voom dish is in my back yard on a pole. One RG6 cable goes from the dish to my guest house. No problem there. That's the way I originally had it installed and just watched HD movies in my guest house.
For the new receivers, I ran a second RG6 cable from the dish (from the other LNB output) to the outside of my house. I have an amplified...

29264invalid@example.com (weagle)weagleits too bad voom is shutting down but at the same time i don't care since voom made it so hard for canadians to subscribe because of the no self-install policy. I hope though the channels voom has atleast some will migrate to another provider ie echostar can be a likely canditate they have channels on 61.5 so if they bought those transponders it would be great if they used them for hd.]]>3For those current customers with service calls logged:Sat, 09 Apr 2005 00:10:38 +0000

29111invalid@example.com (Kluch)KluchSorry I figured this would be around but I don't see any kind of thread on it. I am about to order VOOM and have never had a satellite installed in my life ever. What should I look out for or ask of my installer, I want to make sure it's a professional job, but how do I say that without being rude and still make sure it happens?
Should I ask for anything specific when I place my order?
P.S. I'm in AZ(Phoenix) if that narrows down installers, etc...

29099invalid@example.com (danielle_s)danielle_sI got a call from all installs/installs inc. this morning around 9:45. We talked for a minute on the phone and she said that an installer would be out in about an hour. He showed up around 11:20. I was starting to wonder where he was. Before he came to the apartment he said that he has to go and talk with my apartment manager. Bad idea, espically where I live. There are 4 people who run this place and they all think they're the one in charge when only one is in charge and she's on maternity...

I called last week to get an install and have been very disappointed with the service. I made the mistake of calling on the "800" number rather thatn finding a local dealer/installer. When I called, a very polite lady took all the information and advised me the first install date was more than 10 days out and could not be done on a Saturday. I later found out it was being done through Installs Inc. Considering that HD TV is not as afordable as everyone would...

28565invalid@example.com (tashafan)tashafanHello fellow Voomers:
I had been visiting this forum for some time now and after considerable debate I choose to take the jump and finally order Voom today. I am very excited and nervous at the same time. Excited because I can't wait to watch all of the HD programming and nervous because of all of the horror stories associated with a new install.
I am located in Minooka which is a suburb of Chicago. My install date is currently set for 4/11 AM and the company which is going to...

28580invalid@example.com (ColdBrew)ColdBrewI have two receivers being installed tomorrow. One is an older Sony Wega 40'' direct view. I know it will end up with component because I don't have DVI on it. But my other screen is a new Pioneer 4350 plasma. It has two HDMI and three component (I think). It doesn't have DVI. Does that mean I will end up using component on the plasma or does the receiver have DVI->HDMI cable? Or is there a newer receiver that has HDMI. I know my moms receiver doesn't have HDMI.
