Well it sounds like with this box, the AZBox, and a 4DTV receiver, we can retire the others. (The Vantage STB is advantageous too.) I especially like the fact that the Sathawk PVR800 uses USALS by moving the dish. Too cool!this box blind scans DVB & S2 but does not do 4:2:2
the azbox can do 4:2:2 but no blind scan![]()
That sure would be nice if 4:2:2 were a software function that could later be updated on the SatHawk.
Yea, I'm doubtful that'll happen. (only a guess)That sure would be nice if 4:2:2 were a software function that could later be updated on the SatHawk.
:upHowever, what about recording 4:2:2 onto the hard drive?
Even if the receiver could not play back the show, it might be possible to transfer the video to your computer and play it there.
I did not test 4:2:2 recordingBesides 4:2:2 stream capture, and SR limit issues, I'm curious if the PVR functions currently support timeshifting,
Here are some pictures:
Set back relax, and play the video in full screen:
Which brings up the question, Why can't it? The box runs Linux, a flexible operating system. ALL pci cards can do 4:2:2 with the proper codec installed(software). Why can't the proper codec be installed on this box? It's just a computer with a dvb pci card integrated right?
