722k gives away the results of sporting events

Thanks for the responses. Turns out my 722 was set to record using tuner #2 by default, but in dual mode (which the DVR was in) my experience has been that the box is always recording from the tuner used for TV 1. I changed the mode from dual to single, which enabled PIP and SWAP...

722k gives away the results of sporting events

I have a 722k Dish DVR and one thing about it annoys the heck out of me. If I want to start watching a sporting event that's still in the process of recording, it's difficult not to have the receiver "spoil" the result. An example: I have the DVR programmed to record an event that starts at...

DVD recorder unable to record from 722k

I'm trying to record SPEED TV's broadcast of the Goodwood Revival. Anyone know if there's a way to tell if the DISH box thinks a particular event is protected?

DVD recorder unable to record from 722k

Note that I'm guessing that the DVD recorder thinks it's detecting a Macrovision copy protection signal. Since I'm hooked up to the DVR via RCA/analog jacks, and Macrovision is the only analog copy protection I'm aware of, I've made the assumption that's the culprit. I've got no proof, though...

DVD recorder unable to record from 722k

I disconnected the composite cables from the DVD recorder and connected analog (turns out it was S-video + audio) output instead. This is for the connection to the television. It doesn't appear to have made any difference -- I still get a 'copy protection' message when hitting the record...

DVD recorder unable to record from 722k

I'm using component output from the DVD recorder to the TV (it's got HDMI out as well but all my HDMI ports are in use). If the way the recorder is connected to the TV matters, I believe the recorder also has RCA/analog outputs I could use instead.

DVD recorder unable to record from 722k

The manufacturer is "LG", and the model number is "DR787T". I used this same recorder with our old SD DirecTV DVR and it never refused to record programs off of that. So presumably the DISH DVR is doing something different.

DVD recorder unable to record from 722k

A few weeks back we switched from DirecTV to DISH and got a 722k DVR. We have an LG DVD recorder that I've used on occasion to archive a show we'd want to watch again in the future but didn't want taking up space on the DVR. Today I tried to use it for the first time with the 722k and it...

    722k crashes -- infant mortality?

Our 722k, which was installed two weeks ago today, 'crashed' twice yesterday. Symptoms were that, when powered on (using TV1 remote), it showed a frozen image of the most recently watched channel and would not respond to any input from the remote or front panel. The only thing it did respond...

    Connecting 722k to home network

I just got a 722k put in and the installer used a SlingLink Turbo W1 to connect the DVR to my home network over the house wiring. When streaming video from the DVR I'm finding I get issues if I try to use the higher bandwidth settings -- if I try "HD" streaming to my computer things fall apart...

Issues with 722's remote control for TV2

I just got a 722k DVR. I've found that, when the Sony PlayStation 3 that is connected to the main TV is in use, the TV2 remote no longer functions. I'm assuming that the PS3, which has wireless controllers and uses wifi to connect to my home network, is interfering with the UHF signal from the...
