Do you have to purchase the adapter from dish or can you just get one from Walmart or another store?

Under support on dish networks site in the how to setup>external hard drive>convert your receiver into a DVR it says that the EHD must not use flash memory and should only be a single-platter drive.

Do you have a suggestion as to what works best? do you have any model numbers of EHD's that are compatiable?

I have read that the drives have to be self powered and that they must be single platter and no more than 1TB. How exactley do you determine if they are single platter or not? The other 2 options are not hard to find but I have looked at stores and they do not put that on the boxes. Does anyone...

No not embarrassed. It was a problem with my home theater. It's a LG as is my tv. It's supposed to come on automatically when the tv is turned on through the HDMI cable. I switched the cable out and now it works. Thanks.

211k. Just had them installed today with the dish. Tv speakers. I think I figured it out though. Went into panic mode. Sorry! LOL!!!!

I have some channels that have no sound! Picture is good. Anyone know what the problem could be? There are times though that the channels do have sound.

I just got my dish installed today. I was curious as to which satellites they set my dish too. They installed a 1k.4 dish and I have the free HD with 1 222k and 2 211k. My signal seems low. It was in the 50's. Is this good? My zipcode is 40391.

Say you had two 211's. Is that $40 a rcvrs for activation or is that $40 for the entire account?

I have 4 tv's in my house. I have 3 HD tvs and 1 standard tv. I told the tech that I wanted two 211's and one 222 rcvrs. He told me that I only needed two 222's and that would give me HD on my 3 tv's and SD to my standard tv. Is this correct? It doesn't sound right to me. I want the 211's...
