Do you live close to Hattiesburg? Games featured on espn are nationally televised and seldom shown on local networks... Pay per view is often what happens for people in MS and SC in this situation...if you check the dish tv schedule this is listed only on espn for that evening...for instance...

Live in Knoxville,TN and want to watch tomorrow nights Saints Preseason Game...of course Cox Sports Television (Chanel 421) is over the 350 mile complete channel black out range....can I simply call in to Dish and tell them I am traveling (do own a camper) and Change my Zip to Mississippi one...

Jimbo not so fast.....read my post again...I simply want an inexpensive option for those of us who want to use Direct Tv as a sports option only...in the past you could subscribe to the NFL sunday tix with no programing commitment....I am simply asking that direct tv have some type of low end...

very true iceberg...hence why the make it so hard to leave....:rant:but i can remember years ago (which i am sure you do as well) when you could a la carte get sports packages...man they tore up the cable market esp people in apt's or didnt have locals in their areas to buy into their sports...

Direct Tv....Bring back the a la carte option....Charge us a monthly surcharge to subscribe to sports packages without monthly programming...or at least create a basic package for $9.99-$14.99 with 10 channels then add sports packages on....price going up up up....options going down down...

Of course seems these 2 markets have to be some of the last few left that have absolutely no locals HD/SD on Direct Tv or Dish Network....any clue on a time frame for these? Assuming the new sat launch and current discussions in congress could make this finally happen in 2010?

I can remember when you could get sports programming with out monthly package commitment...of course now I know that is no longer applicable...guess my question is currently with Direct Tv is the cheapest package out there the $29.99 Choice?? Hard to believe they have nothing else like dish...
