Thanks Zerkon, I had that figured out. :) Hopefully this work around certainly is not the 'final solution' When using D* all we had to do was hit pause and then live TV -----much more elegant than switching between recordings.

Assumming you are correct :o about the 2 live tuners; how does one put one live show on hold and switch to another while keeping your place in the first? I suspect that 2 tuners are NOT available for live viewing, but rather only for DVR service and we are restricted to 1 tuner for live...

I serioulsy hope VZ will respond to not having 2 live tuners - I also switched from DTV and absolutely loved the 2 live tuners during football season!

:( There's a known issue with the HMO DVR and viewing SD recordings on other STBs. When I called to report the problem on Friday, the CSR informed me that there's a fix in place and is being tested in VA. :eureka So if you experience this problem please call tech support.

On my remote there's no :eureka programming invloved. The button immediately to the right of the blue DVR button advances recordings 30 seconds, the button immediately to the left skips backwards about 8 seconds.

:confused: In the manual there's a mention of watching 2 programs by swapping from one to the other by using the "SWAP" button on the remote. I have not found it! This is one feature I'll certainly miss during football season. Does anyone know how to use this feature with FiOS? TIA Pete

PQ was one of my reasons, :cool: value was the driving force for my decision - higher speed than cox, more channels and better PQ than Directv, a real HMO network (capabilities limited now, needs to be upgraded by V*)

2 dvrs are ok Sometimes I wish I had 2 DVRs also....The multi-room DVR is nice because it enables me to watch HD programming on the connected TV with maximum capabilities of 480i. Eventually I'll upgrade to a 'real' HD TV:eureka

maybe not the router alone! ;) I'm not entirely certain the the router can be attributed soley to the lack of intrustion attempts - more than likely it's a combination of V*'s secuirty and the router. However, I do concour about recieving fewer intrusion attempts since switching from Cox high...

Does you laptop have USB2 inputs? If so there are devices that will take analog audio + video inputs and digitize them to be captured by your USB port. I purchased a Plextor ConvertX and am quite happy with the results. The video quality is really good - but not quite as good as viewed directly...
