Had 622VIP install yesterday. No HDMI cable in the box. Used the one I had and the installer was kind enough to provide DVD -> HDMI connector. Had to readjust the TV contrast / brightness (swapped out a 811). The HD content looks better though SD seems degraded. Still have to try the Component...

Installation went smooth. Was afraid the installer would cancel at the last moment cause of equipment shortage - glad to see the box in his hand. Took about 45 minutes, swapped out the 811 for 622VIP. Swapped out 301 for the 811 on other room. First DVR I have ever had - great features...

Upgraded to 622VIP - installation on Monday - cost $199. Will return 301 for a $25 rebate. Get to keep 811 for now.

Right now the San Francisco HD locals (ABC / FOX ) are showing up on my 811 - on channel 9808 / 9811 . It says Temorary Home of FOX from SF. I understood they locals are in pseudo MPEG4 and 811 is not allowed to receive it. Hope the channels remain.

I got another problem after the update. Some of the channels will have no audio when I initially switch to them. I need to switch to another channel and switch back to get the audio.

I often see that someone forgot to "flip the switch". It starts with HD but after the first batch of local ads, it remains SD. It takes a couple of such cycles to rectify it.
