Very true. At least it has the Scripps channels and the Weather Channel. Judging from all of the outages reported, I doubt tvropro gets to actually watch his system anyways.

Congratulations, I think...are there any channels in that package that you actually like? I would hate to send a check of pure profit each month to someone I hated so much. Hardly any of the channels in the Family Package actually cost Directv a dime.:confused:

If you can still find the philips hard drive dvr at walmart you wouldn't be disappointed. It has 3 inputs so you can record from 3 devices(at seperate times of course). Record from your dvb box on one input, the dsr410 from another input, and also from the internal digital tuner.

One more comment- since you did get your 410 from skyvision a master reset using the hidden menu is not really needed. After you get your service activated, be sure to ask programming center to set you up on web sams. Also, without a shadow of a doubt, Tim(the CSR manager) is the most helpful...

if the actuator is functional, you can get a brand new analog receiver from ebay for $32 shipped to move the dish. As an alternative you could get a low cost dvb receiver and couple it with a vbox for not much more money. The dvb receiver will give you access to many free channels while the...

Don't give up! What kind of LNB are you using? Did you get the DSR410 from Skyvision? Do you also have a dvb reciever? You could hook it up, do a blind scan, and determine which satellite the dish is currently pointed towards.

I love my service from skyvision, but exactly which channels do you get for only $12 a month?? The least inexpensive package for the DSR410 that he will be using is Starz for $18 a month. The deluxe pack I get is still $32 a month if paid quarterly. It has about 50 channels.:)

I have a fixed position 6 foot dish that I use for the 4dtv channels on W5. No problems here, never goes out. Maybe others could comment on movable dishes.

When I still had dishnetwork, I did a split screen comparison. DSR-410 wins, much less pixelation. Also, skyvision is the only place for programming on this box.
