    RC71 REMOTE

    Exactly. I used that code, and it wouldn't turn on and off the television reliably--the timing or something didn't work. I'm glad I tried the RC71. And yes, it's not one of the best TVs. I got it for a guest room and am happy with it.

    I actually couldn't get the included (can't remember what model) remote to work with my new HR24 and RCA television. It wouldn't properly turn on and off the TV. So I set up the RC71 from my Genie, and it works perfectly, powering on and off the TV as expected and controlling the HR24 just fine.

    Thanks for the reply. I verified that I do, indeed, have a SWM 16. So, if I don't want any DVR capabilities in the guest room, I can just install an H24/25? Can I split a cable off another receiver close by to wire it, or will I have to run a cable all the way from the SWM?

    So, I just ordered an upgrade to a Genie. They, of course, wouldn't permit specifying an HR44. I would assume that it is more likely I will receive the HR44 vs. the HR34 at this point. But if they try to install an HR34, I wonder if I should refuse the installation. What happens?
