Which transponder are you picking these up on?

I have never been able to lock a dss signal with any of my fta receivers but my genpix and twinhan 1020a do.Which sat and tp are you getting signal on?

Even with the right lnb you won't get the three hidden channels with your fortec ultra or viewsat ultra as the channels are using h.264 for video which these receivers don't support.

The vs max does support h.264 but for some reason manual pid entry doesn't work on with that format.The only way i haven't gotten the hidden dish network hd channels to come in on a vs max is to scan the whole sat and find similar pids on another tp and editing that tp to the one with the hidden...

A regular "circular" dish network lnb won't be able to get 118w as it's not designed to get the 11.7-12.2ghz circular frequency that the sat uses.Dish network has an two lnbs designed for this called the 118/119 dishpro and 118/119 dish pro plus.

Like it was mentioned above there isn't much you can due with dish receivers but there is one model in particular that is fun to play with and convert into a pansat 2500/2700 with a little soldering and a jtag.If you can find a 301.013 receiver for free or fairly cheap it is easy to convert...

Yes the audio channels are running with no encryption.I only know of two pci tuners that will do dss (genpix 1/2 & twinhan 1020a "Ver 3.1")

The vs pro's blindscan is worthless so don't even bother using it.If your getting signal and quality on tp 12060 with both bars not "grayed" you should be able to scan in the channels on that tp with the "channel scan option".

According to the description gariac gave you have the one that does blind scan.I am not sure which chip the non-blind scan unit uses but the one that does blind scan uses the Montage M88DS000/2.

When your setting up a satellite in the configuration menu and you hit scan sat a new window should pop up with the following. "Scan satellite by default" "Blind scan one satellite"

Yes the dishpro plus lnb has a bulit in switch and you would need to set the diseqc ports in your receivers antenna setup menu along with the lnb type "dishpro".

As long as you leave one of the dish network receivers on to power the dishpro plus setup then yes it should work.One thing you need to do is remove the separator and feed the cable directly from the lnb to your geosat and setup your lnb type and diseqc settings accordingly...

The conversion was possibly on a Drd430 but not a Drd420 as it doesn't use the sti5518 chip.

Radar, Only the linear sat's that i use have the 22khz setting set to on.I make the azbox the primary receiver by just swapping the cables between the two units.

Thanks for looking into this Radar.When it gets a little warmer around here i will definitely try running without a switch and test motor operation/signal quality on both the linear and circular ports of the invacom.

No the 300 will not work to get (2) sat positions as you don't have the ability to skew the dish (turn like steering wheel).
