Yes, someone in the Lone-Star state is going to be very lucky... very lucky that I don't live in that area.

10 hours each way is just a little too far. Probably way more than 10 hours for the loaded return trip.

I bet that dish is a great performer.

Only issues that I can see is it appears to be one-piece so it may be tough to haul very far (legally), and it may have an az/el mount.

With a little effort it could be bred onto a BV or AJAK though, sweeeeeeeeeeeeet.

Yes, the lack of segment lines, and that circle of bolts, suggest it's a one piece.
If it's spun aluminum, that'd be great.
If it's old fiberglass, I'm not so sure.
But, since it's a commercial dish, I'd certainly suggest anyone in the area give it a look.

Yea, no doubt on a fixed mount.
Transplanting it it a Birdview or AJAK would require having a spare to do it with.
However, the upgrade from 8' to 12' would certainly be an incentive! - :up

Yeh, I was assuming it was made of metal, that may be incorrect.

If that beast is fiberglass, and has the ribbing on the back I'm sure a commercial glass dish would have, it would be extremely heavy.

I am almost 90% Sure DH Only made one piece spun aluminum dishes. They just now started making sectional ones. They make dishes up to 16 feet in diameter.

I am probably the closest in this topic to the dish at a 2 hour drive but still looks like a difficult trip back with only a pickup truck possibly a moving van but things start to get expensive then.

You got a pickup truck...NO Problem as I've hauled home 10 footers in the back of my 94 Toyota pickup, so it can be done without taking it apart.

I doubt you could stand it straight up and down. Just flat on top of a vehicle, with a "Wide Load" sign maybe - Then stay as far to the right as you can get, and travel when there is the least traffic.

In my state you need permits and pilot cars to move something that wide on State/Federal highways. Don't get a big ticket!

From what I've read that only applies to loads being carried by commercial trucks over 20,000 lbs that exceed the legal dimensions of width and vehicle weight.

Besides you can put a slide in camper into the bed of a pickup and have one that measures 10' 11"- 11' 6" and be completely legal.
