Hooked up this new ehd yesterday http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E3RH5W2/ref=oh_details_o00_s02_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1, pretty cut & dry, asked me to format right off, no problem. Transferred around 60 gigs or so with no problem & was able to access them afterwards.
A few hrs afterwards had some signal issues. Dish (1k4 wa) had a couple inches of frozen snow & ice which I removed with hot water, still nothing. Anyhow several check switches revealed tuner 1 had issues, 1 time nothing, another 129 on 2, then on 1, it was all over the place. Tuner 2 checked fine every time.
Receiver had 2 cables with no separator. Took the wire feeding tuner 2, put a separator on it & everything was fine. Check switch was normal & receiver downloaded the program guide. I suppose 1 of my coax cables went bad or the switch in the lnb is on the skids.
Once everything was working again the receiver prompted me to format the ehd. It's not the end of the world but am a little confused because the ehd worked earlier with no issues. Anybody have an explanation?
