Well, I figured I would post it. I am not in the market for one as I do not need to archive tv shows (yet). I noticed if you look around on the site that features this drive, there is another brand drive 750GB for 149.00.

The Staples 1 tb was actually dual 500 mb drives.If the 750mb unit contains 1 drive it is better for connecting to Dish. As I understand it,Dish can only use 1 drive at a time.

The 1TB drive is configured as Raid-0 in the chassis, so only 1 drive is seen by the system.

I still recommend using smaller drives 200-250GB so a failure does not wipe out the whole collection.
