A LA Cart - Is this true or just hype

I would love to see more A LA Cart on DISH but I'm skeptical.

Anybody have any real data on this?

I think a la carte may cost more in the long run. Dish offers some a la carte like Encore for $5/month, Heartland Package for $5/month, Outdoor Sports pack for $3/month, etc.
