How do i add a new satellite to a pansat 2500a like sbs6?

RTFM - Read the fine manual. Page 21.

Section 2.7.1

Go to Installation
Edit TP/Sat
Scrolly down to NEW
Put in the name you wanna call it.
Put the down freq in (10750 for Ku)
Save it.

Go to Antenna Setup.
Select your newly added sat.
Make sure your settings are correct. LNB type is usually Standard or universal.
Positioner setting. You can use USALS.
Put in the location of the sat. (SBS-6 is at 74.0'W)
Save it.
Go to Move.
Make sure you have good signal. Exit back to antenna setup.
Go down to Satellite Scan. Let it do its thing.

That should do it. (Did I forget anything Ice?)

looks right. If you know you wont need C-band, you can always relable a C-Band one

Put the down freq in (10750 for Ku)

Actually it's asking for you to input one transponder (its downlink freq of course). 10750 is the local oscillator frequency for Ku, don't put that in here. Instead put in the frequency, symbol rate, and polarity of a known transponder. This only applies to using NEW. If you rename an existing satellite (a C band one for example) it won't ask you for an initial transponder. Instead you'll need to edit all its transponders (or removed them all and add the correct ones).

I think I know what you're trying to say here... It sounds like maybe you are using NEW, then at the screen for initial transponder (after entering its name) you're just hitting OK leaving the info blank. In that case I don't think it will save the satellite.

But also be aware that the 2500A can only hold 2 new satellites. Once you hit that mark, you can be doing everything right in adding new ones but it will never actually save them (nor give you a warning). At that point you must rename (and 'move') existing satellites.

This is only for USALS if you're using a USALS capable motor. You go into the Antenna Setup screen (as described above), then for this satellite move down to positioner setting and hit right or left until USALS shows up, then press OK while USALS is highlighted. You'll then be taken to a screen where you define your own coordinates as well as the longitude of the satellite.
