i just bought a dp34 switch and a 50 ft rg6 cable. I wanted to know if it is safe/legal/ok for me to install my new 811 receiver to my existing standard dish network package. i know it costs $4.99 a month for additional receivers but can i do this myself?

Have you hooked it up yet?

The answer to your question is MAYBE... it all depends on your setup right now

if you have a Legacy setup, then NO it wont work... if you have a DPP system and already have a couple dual-tuner recievers hooked up, then NO, it won't work, you would need another switch cascaded together.
