AM21 slowing you down?

i recently added a am21. while my HR21-100 is slow as always, i'm not really sure if there is a difference or not with the am21. today it has been painfully slow but usually after a couple of days from downloading the latest updates it will usually slow down again. just wondering what has been the experience with others on this.

My whole receiver hasn't necessarily slowed down, but any recording from OTA acts funny. It takes forever for the receiver to respond to any trickplay command. Some days it acts fine, but probably 75% of the time, it doesn't act right at all.

Speaking of slow, are the HD DVR's slower than the regular HD receivers? I was at my grandmas and her HD receiver was pretty quick at changing channels. Whenever I do it, it takes 2-4 seconds for the picture and sound to come on.

I also would like to know how the AM21 connects to the HD DVR? I may have asked this before, but can't remember. If you have an AM21 and an HD DVR can you record 2 shows at once while watching another show through your OTA antenna?

The response time of all the new D receivers left me using an old Samsung Mpeg-2 receiver until I couldn't take the loss of all the new HD content. I have been pleasantly surprised with the speed of the HR-21-100 & was recently shocked when my H20's all got a quantum leap after a software upgrade. I hate when they almost purposely slow down channel surfing (new 4-digit code & removal of the 'Select' key in lieu of the 'Enter' key) but it's nice to see they can get it right with software upgrades. I am currently rewiring with the SWM8/AM21 & will let you know of any speed issues after I connect everything.

i removed my am21 yesterday and i do notice a significant increase in speed. i'll continue to experiment with it later. if that's the case i'm just going to use my tv's ota tuner and forget about it.

I have not noticed a difference with my AM21.
