Anybody ever wear out the "skip" button on your remote?

HERE! GUILTY!!

I tried to hit the skip button yesterday and it didnt do anything. Thought the HR34 was going goofy. Set remote to IR and nothing. All other buttons work
Found other IR remote in a box and tried that...works fine

So I guess I gotta get a new RF remote
This one only lasted 15 months

FYI, I got mine on Amazon for $6.30 with free shipping. I couldn't believe it was so cheap and the exact same remote.

I wore it out. Switched it with the non DVR in the bedroom until I wear out the second one.

I only have the HR34 and I like it in RF mode.....

If the RF remote isn't backlit, you could take them apart and switch key membrane between them? Its rubber that loses conductivity.

new remote came today so all is good again

I see somehow Genie can automatically program your TV into the remote too...cool

Open it up and clean the contacts Ice, that's all you need to do! Done it many times. Get a Q-tip and put some alcohol on it, wipe the contact button on the "skin" side and the hard parts on the circuit board. Flip the Q-tip over and scrub them again with the dry end. Problem solved!
