Beijing selected to host the 2022 Winter Olympics

It wasn't really much a choice. It was either Beijing, China or Almaty, Kazakhstan. Beijing won with a vote of 44 to 40. Considering Beijing successfully the 2008 Olympics, I guess this would considered the safer choice. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Winter_Olympics

Quite a few mountainous and snowy areas in China. Beijing gets more snow than Vancouver who held the last winter olympics.
