Blind scan capablities

Some of the prices on Ebay are starting to get tempting, I'm looking for the best Blind scan capabilities, I still plan to use my PCI card for most viewing.

I'm a bit confused as to the capabilities of blind scan receivers I understand most will not detect DVB-S2 signals but will they find other signals they may not be capable of playing such as 4.2.0, 4.2.2 , MPEG-2/HD and others?

Some of the Coolsat models seem particularly well priced at the moment, are the any makes or models I should be looking out for, or avoiding?

there are only a couple units that will blind scan in DVB-S2

The ones that blind scan will blind scan in a 4:2:0 SD or HD feed and a 4:2:2 SD or HD feed. Whether or not it plays is a different story

I like the Fortec Mercury II/Dynamic, Coolsat 5000/6000, Pansat 2700/3500, Traxis 3500 as FTA blindscan boxes. Others work , too.
