Control Infrared receiver behind solid door with dish Hopper remote.

I use my old JVC stereo receiver to feed my headphones while watching TV on my Hopper. The JVC is behind a closed door in my Home Theater cabinet, which means I have to leave the door open to listen, my wife does not like for me to leave the door open just because I am old and lazy!
Is there an inexpensive unit to attach to the JVC infrared sensor using a sensor on the TV shelf that I can use with my Hopper remote?
