I have an old Dish 2700 that I dug out of the garage....looks to be in working order. Looks like the dish I have is a Directv dish 18x20....1000? has three lnbs on it. Can I use the dish network receiver with the direct tv dish? My thought was hey they both use circular lnb's so why not. Any ideas are appreciated. I haven't messed with the small dish stuff in a long time. Thanks Blind.

Direct tv dishes are not the same as Dish Network dishes, you may be able to get one sat location or maybe two, three is not possible without doing modifications to the dish. The lnb's may work if they are compatible with Dish's Legacy lnb, otherwise they may not work either.

The Phase 3 dish uses a 22Khz tone to select the 119 LNB. DISH receivers are not capable of generating that tone so it won't operate the built in switch to select that satellite. The 110 LNB on the phase 3 dish is a special LNB that sees only 3 channels and 1 polarity because that is all Directv owns at that location. Find a used DISH 500 dish if you really want to connect that 2700, but I wouldn't even recommend that because of the age.

I am tired of waiting... I have a "moving" question
