I always pick up the 40.0.

I hate voice remotes. Not just Dish voice remotes, any.

I'm really surprised Directv doesn't have a voice remote. I think they had something with Your smart phone but that's not a true voice remote

Switched to all 54 remote. I like the backlight feature. I Do not use the voice function.

I have switched from using my 40 remote to using the 54 remote. The backlight is amazing. Plus it fits in my treadmill tray better. I rarely use the voice feature except to say "power off hopper". Otherwise I would wait the 5 minutes to verify that the Hopper3 actually turned itself off. That is just my insecurity.

I do the same thing. I use the voice remote to turn it off. I say : Turn receiver off.

I never use the voice on mine, but I did dump my 40's for 54's
