[h=1]Dish Makes It So for Patrick Stewart[/h]It seems even celebrities have trouble with their cable service. A properly peaked dish will eliminate 99% of ALL rain fade.

Satellite rain fade is no more pervasive, probably less so, than cable outages due to poor maintenance or accidents, and they last a much shorter time.

Another point...how many cable outages "fix" themselves? Once it's out - typically - technical intervention is required. Rain fade is the one satellite weather-related outage that fixes itself.

Almost 16 years with DISH and several different antennas pointing different directions and I have to agree with this statement wholeheartedly. My prior experience with cable included many more outages, most with prolonged (more than 10 minutes) durations.

I had to have my roof resingled and needed to get my Dish off the roof. I looked at triple play from TW. My verizon dsl can be cranky at time, so I was interested in TW high speed. I was on the phone for over 3 hours getting it set up and decided to later mske a change in the configuration. Called back and after another 1 1/2, TW decided they could not change the order and told me they would have to delete it and start over. Told them to cancel and called Dish to move the antenna from the roof to the side of the house. They gave me an appointment the next Sunday. Got a call the next day, installer finished his other jobs early, could he come over an do the move now. Came over - all set. Very good service as far as I am concerned.
