How do you tell what is what ? Have two HD dishs and one has bigger back plate. Would the bigger back plate be better?

That was perfect,I have a 1004 but it looks like it can't be used with a Hopper 3. Not sure why if it had a hybrid lnb put on it,seems like bigger is better. LOL

You can't add a hybrid LNB to the 1004 but you can add a 42 switch and continue to use the 1004 and its LNB for use with a Hopper 3. That said, bigger does not always mean better....

Bigger dish is better IF the lnb is far enough back so that the lnb's "periferal vision" sees to the edge of the reflector and is still in the focus, otherwise the extra size is wasted.
