Dish Network PPV IMax Films

Dish has several IMax films on PPV, are these movies being down converted to 480p or are they left at 1080i?

I would think that since they are on the HD PPV channel, that they would all be 1080i. What makes you suspect that they are 480p?

They are on the 500 range of PPV channels and I can see the channels on my 2800, 301, & 510 recievers which are not HD recievers.

The 500 range is not HD. HDPPV is 9428 and/or 9467.

Simple Simon really I did not know that. But, since you have the answer. Here's the question again:

Yes, I know that the 500 range are not HD. So, why are these HD Moives playing on regular PPV channels?

Oh sorry. SD is 480i. period.

Dish will put anything on PPV that they think someone will pay for. period.

Finally, most movies are shot using a format that is more or less HD quality. IMAX of course is quite exceptional, but it's not the only one.
