DISH NETWORK® SIGNS UP AS A SPONSOR FOR ROUSH FENWAY RACING FOR SECOND SEASON

The DISH Network AllStars Looking for Much Success in 2008

CONCORD, N.C. and ENGLEWOOD, COLO. (February 21, 2008) – Roush Fenway Racing today announced DISH Network® (Nasdaq: DISH) has signed on as a sponsor in the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

DISH Network will have a team representative and serve as a primary sponsor in 15 Sprint Cup Races in 2008, alternating between three Roush Fenway drivers. Greg Biffle will drive the No. 16 DISH Network Ford Fusion in 11 Sprint Cup races, Carl Edwards will drive the No. 99 Ford in three races and Matt Kenseth will race the No. 17 Ford in one race. The DISH Network team of drivers will be dubbed the DISH Network AllStars.

"DISH Network has been a tremendous partner to Roush Fenway Racing," said team owner Jack Roush. "We shared several successes last season including two Nationwide Series wins with Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth. I look for similar success this season in the Sprint Cup series with the 15 DISH Network entries."

"DISH Network is thrilled to sponsor such an elite racing team for a second consecutive year," said Carl Vogel, vice chairman for DISH Network. "The DISH Network AllStars saw four wins and eight top-five finishes last year between our Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup races, and we're confident we can bring that positive momentum into 2008, while continuing to communicate DISH Network's superiority in HD and DVRs."

The DISH Network AllStars first race is Sunday, Feb. 24 featuring the 2007 Nationwide Series champion Carl Edwards.

I don't recall if any Nextel cup races were exclusively on Speed last year. Certainly the majority were on major networks and are available to folks who live in HD lil markets in HD.

Now when NESN HD starts up on Dish, That will be cause for celebration.

Nah nothing on speed, just the truck races. Busch went to ESPN. The Cup races are always reserved for the big networks.

No races in HD on speed, so would be like asking for the NFL network without any games. Sure has nice info about NFL but what is the purpose of HD and sports channels...to me meaning the games, matches, races, etc. If I wanted HD sports I turn to ESPN HD. Only thing they will have is qualifying...and to me, not that exciting to watch one car on the track...thats why they support a 43 car field.

Actually guys, there IS one race that is exclusive to SPEED, and it is the one that baffles me to this day that NA$CAR agreed to it...the All-Star Race (The Winston to us old-school racin fans) in Charlotte is only on SPEED.

I don't watch much racing but the whole sponsor thing always drove me mad. If you guys have so many sponsors why are you still showing ads? It's not like the cars stop racing. There are so many ads on the cars no one could ever see them all and the big sponsors get overshadowed. I grew up watching racing in New York City in the 80s and I can tell you more sponsors form them then now prolly. Dale drove for Wrangler and there was always a Green Skoal car. Then Bill Elliot drove for Bud and someone for Tide (Waltrip?). Then Dale Jarrett drove for UPS. Now there's a Viagra Car and that's all I know from watching 20+ years of racing. I know Jeff Gordon drives a rainbow car and is #24 but I have no idea who his sponsor is. Someone who hopefully hit their target demo well cause they missed me completely.

I think the Soccer jersey ads work a lot better. They tend to be simple and blend into the uniform (well in other countries they do) but also be quite prominent. I'm sure the costs of racing necessitate more than one sponsor and that the demand is off the charts. However as a casual fan I don't see the effectiveness.

Oh and tomorrow I'm getting U-Verse and dropping to dish HD package. So I'd like to offer Dish a simultaneous "screw you" and "thank you".

Ummm, no you are wrong. The All Star race is broadcast only on SPEED. although it is not a points race, it is one of the biggest races of the season

How am I wrong? I asked how many races are shown exclusively on speed. I didn't realize that is a right or wrong question.
He stated that if you want to see the Dish cars, then you have to go to Direct. That is incorrect because 99% (okay, one race is) of the races are not on speed. Happy.
