Last night two (110,119) of my three satellites went out. Only 129 (which I no longer need) comes in. DISH CS thinks it is likely cabling and set up an installer to come out and check the system. But this will take three days before they show up (if they show up as scheduled) and will cost me $29. I now have the $5.99 warrenty. Is this type of delay normal?
PS I reversed the cable connections to the switch but still only 129 came in (now line? 1 on the 508 receiver's check switch result not line 2 as before)., so I assume it is something other than the switch or receiver. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Dish warranty service

I think I have two legacy twins leading into an old sw21 switch and out to a 508 receiver. Could be one of the twins since I thought they put in used ones last year when DISH upgraded my 500 to a 1000 so I could then get three more of my locals. At the time, another installer told me they should have put in Dish Pro items and upgraded my switch, but they did not. My cables are fairly new as I had to get longer ones when we added a screened in porch about 18 months ago. Apparently the 110 and 119 satellites come in on one line and the 129 (which I no longer needed about 2 months after they upgraded? me as all my locals were switched to 119) on the other, and unfortunally that is the one that is still working.

Since you have a Dish Pro receiver, you should have the tech put you in a dish 1000 with a plus twin and a dual when he comes to fix your system. That should solve your worries, unless you do have a cable problem hiding somewhere.

They just called and canceled tomorrow's install and wanted to reset it to next week. I called DISH since I will be out of town part of the week and not sure when I will return. Also, they had canceled the so called upgrade last year saying they needed to get a new switch, but never installed same or even brought one with them when they finally showed up.
The CSR said they had jerry rigged the system when they replaced the 500 with the 1000. He is going to set it up as a move so they will have to start over. Still a big hassle. So much for the Dish warranty. Hopefully some other company will show up.

Too bad you can't go through someone local.....would solve over half the headache.

I agree, if he would have gone local to begin with, it would prolly be fixed.
But if he called Dish direct, the regional guy got the install and that is what he is waiting for. The reg guy would rather do installs.
