I've got a new PC (still in box) and I've just ordered a new monitor. Both the PC and the monitor have what I believe to be DVI-D (dual link) ports with holes for 24 pins. In my box of random cables, I have a DVI-D (single link) cable, (it does not have the 6 pins in the middle). The monitor resolution is 1920 x 1080.
Will my cable work? Will I be missing anything? Is there any advantage to purchasing a DVI-D dual link cable for this purpose?
Thanks, guys.
