I believe there is a bird over in the east that has 3 NASA channels on it IIRC.
What bird is it? And is it C-Band or KU?

I remember when nasa used to have a show called earth views. It was video of the earth, it was cool. I dont see it anymore, did they get rid of it?

I believe it's a filler thing now. I seem to recall seeing it recently when one of the education or history shows ended about 10 minutes early.

They use to have 6 hours blocks of it. When i was 10/11 I was at my grandma's when I saw it, it was cool to a 10 year old.

The NASA mux on C-Band also features a HD feed during shuttle missions. I am planning to put up a 7.5' Perfect 10 BUD before the next shuttle mission in February just for that feed. Also, I'm getting tired of watching the overly compressed re-broadcast on 119w :)

I am assuming AMC 7 NASA is in the clear?

Can the AMC7 signals be gotten with one of those PCI cards, or is it strictly a 4D thing?

Nasa on both birds is a DVB signal so the PC card should be fine. I watch 'em on AMC6, since my 10 footer can't see west of 131 due to trees....for now!;)

So a PCI HD card, eh?

Forgive my ignorance, but DVB is the same as they use for Dish Network and Directv?
Is it circular polarization or H/V.

If I could use an old DN lnb I could probably get it on a 1.2 meter???

I'm getting confused because it says here
AMC 7 at 137.0°W - LyngSat
that it is on a "C" beam.

I have a bit to learn

DVB just another term for fta (well, in a way). The signals we watch, anyway. PCI card will work just fine. If you have a c-band dish to pick up the sat signal. They're not circular polarization (dishnet) they are linear pol. Horiz and vertical.

Great!

I have a Viewsat Platinum that I am watching G18 and I am using a Primestar 1.2m with a Primestar LNB (V only).

I have another Primestar 1.2m dish and LNB.

If I set up the second 1.2 and point it at AMC 7 connect to both LNBs with a switch, my Platinum should be able to see the NASA channels....yes?

The other option you have is to grab it off of 119W Ku using a circular LNB. Free there (last I checked). Picture isn't *ahem* quite as clear.

By the LyngSat chart there's more channels on AMC6/7 and I think one or more is HD. It says "Mission Operations" channel is scrambled so I guess I can't get that one, but I'd like to see those space pics in HD :D
