Unplug both the dvr and the hard drive, boot up the hard drive and plug it in, then boot up the dvr.So just plug in the hd into the sata port and turn plug in the hr24 and it takes care of itsself?

Do it in the order that Chip mentioned ... also, it will reformat, so you WILL lose everything on it.So just plug in the hd into the sata port and turn plug in the hr24 and it takes care of itsself?
