What I find unnerving about this article is this:

In the meantime, Talley feels like the Bills franchise has dismissed him, while the NFL won't accept its role in his present problems.

In fact, the NFL denied him enrollment in its best disability plan on the grounds that Talley didn't properly file his paperwork. Instead of that $120,000 per year package, Talley receives the "B" package, worth only $39,000 annually.

And on Sunday, in a tremendously poignant moment, Kelly wore Talley’s No. 56 jersey during player introductions for Sunday’s game.

Some people in the comments section are complaining that wearing a jersey does nothing,that if kelly really wanted to help Darryl Talley,he should have opened his wallet. I disagree,Jim Kelly,by wearing Talley's jersey,is drawing attention to Talley's plight,& if ANYBODY should open up their wallet,it should be the NFL,who needs to do the right thing.
A lot of businessmen would disagree with my position,but the NFL has enough bad press with all of the former NFL players suffering from deteriorating health due to their football injuries & concussions(how many have committed suicide so far?),AND let's don't forget how they handled both the Ray Rice & Adrian Peterson situations. They need positive press by doing right for Darryl Talley. Overlook the fact that he "didn't properly fill out his paperwork." Stop being a Scrooge.

While there are those who'd argue that this isn't Roger Goodell's problem or fault,still this makes him look further out of touch,cold,& heartless.

Not to mention the money he made in his 14 years in the league (over $6 million in base salary over that time). Whatever happened to saving your money?

As far as not "properly" filling out the disability forms. He probably signed up for the cheaper plan thinking he'd never need it, and now blames not getting the better plan on not "properly" signing up for it. Again, falls under not thinking ahead.
