little bill had been in poor health for over a decade and has died at his daytona beach home. he was 74.

I agree with both of the last two posts. I liked NASCAR better when the cars still looked like they could be driven home from the track.

gosh, anyone here remember when NASCAR actually raced stock models of showroom cars? i presume that's what your comment meant paul!

I'm reffering to the period that ended sometime in the seventies, when the cars actually looked they did when you bought them in the show room. You know when the racers were named Petty, Yarborough, etc...Yeah I'm that old.

I remember some of those. They also had the showroom cars in the early 80's too.

To me all the cars look the same. It's taken some of the fun out of it for me, I guess.

that's what i'm talking about paul. i saw my first daytona 500 in 1968, the same year i graduated from high school....don't feel too bad!!
