Hey Guys, It wasn't on my to-do list, but I seem to be getting older. To the point were I can no longer live at my remote home in the Jemez Mountains of New Mexico (near Los Alamos). So I'm going to give away my 4 C-Band dishes. Two 8 footers, a 10 foot and a 12 foot. The 12 foot is an early Paraclipse model, and would be quite a DIY project to get it going, so don't get too excited about that one.
First up is my 8.5 ft Birdview on a H to H mount. It goes to the first person who can give me a firm commitment to come get it in the next few weeks. I live 8 miles down a rough dirt road. I can't help much with the disassembly and loading of the dish onto your vehicle. It will probably take at least two strong guys to lift the reflector and the separate mount. I have all the tools needed to disassemble it. You will need at a minimum, a pick-up truck and straps to tie it down.
I last used it two months ago and it worked fine. It comes with an older model dual output Titanium LNBF, and a Ku band prime focus LNBF. I still have the original scalar feed and LNB. It has separate H and V outputs. It worked OK when I last used it 10 years ago.
I've done a few mods to it. Added limit switches and a turnbuckle for fine tuning the elevation. Also an adjustment to fine tune the azimuth, but that didn't work out as well. It doesn't have a declination adjustment. That adjustment is done by adding shims between the dish and the mount.
The other dishes are mesh dishes, which I hope to store at my new home outside of Santa Fe, near I-25. They should be a lot easier to transport. I will get to those in a month or two. Please be patient about those, I will get to them. I just have a lot going on right now. I don't have any dish movers available. I use a homebrew one, which I am keeping.
