Just thought I would relay my tale of woe. A number of things bugged me about it, to the extent that I wanted to post in an attempt to shame Directv.
First things first....I receive an email from Directv saying that they have taken the liberty of renewing my NFL Sunday Ticket, so I don't have to lift a finger. I really don't like the negative-option deals :down (you have to tell them if you want to opt out, otherwise they opt you in), but no big deal since that is the plan I was on last year (only because it was included in the cheapest sign-up deal--I didn't watch it at all).
So, I email them, well ahead of time, and tell them I don't want it. They confirm with an email back to me. Then, to my surprise, 2 months later I am charged anyway! Huh?
So now I email them again and tell them to credit my account and cancel the darn thing. They email me saying they are sorry but if I cancel, I won't be able to get NFL at such a great deal anymore. Further, a CSR will be in touch by phone to discuss.
Grrrr.
I email them back and tell them that I don't need to add a phone conversation to an already bloated-process which has now grown to 3 emails, for what should have been a relatively simple request, which is also even debatable whether or not I should have had to make it in the first place! I don't hear anything back from them this time.
Sooo, I log into my account a few days later and notice that they gave me a credit on my next bill. Shame...shame...shame. I love Directv, but common! !sadroll
