Professional Installation - Call to Schedule

Cliffs:

My H21 is acting wonky, will not get past "Retrieving Guide Data" error 772.
Called DTV, new H21 being shipped to me. (19.95 charge)
Directv.com says professional install, rather than shipping info

Is this normal, or should I call back and confirm it needs to be shipped, and not a truck roll? I don't want to pay for a service visit.

Do you have the Protection plan ?
If you do, there will be no charge for a service call.
I would call and see if they are shipping it and your swapping out the recvr or they are sending someone.

Tell them you don't need someone to swap it out, if your able to do it.
They weren't wanting to swap a dish or anything were they ?

no you should be fine if they did it as it should an erp then it will ship and the message will go away about scheduling a tech ...
 
Well she said she was shipping it and verified my address and such, and explained the 19.95 shipping charge. Which is fine.

I just wanted to make sure she didnt mess up and do professional installation instead.
It just a receiver swap.
 
I just had a replacement receiver shipped to me and online it said the same thing as what you are seeing. No shipping info ever showed up online.

Two days after speaking with them, a receiver showed up at my door. :)
 
stonecold, will CSRs have access to a FedEx tracking # for me? I called earlier and she said there wasn't one in the system. i prefer to have packages held for me, so i can pick them up after work, rather than have them sit outside @ my house.

I usually leave a note on the package (when they will do it) to leave it at my back door (inside).

Usually, FedEx will send an email with a tracking number for you to use.
 
Stonecold, Had the same thing Monday with a replacement receiver being sent to me, got an email for the order and it showed as call for installation on the web site yesterday. Today shows no orders.
