HD receiver with standard tv

Hi... If you buy a new HD receiver before you've finished shopping for and buying an HD capable TV, what happens??? Will the tv still work at all, ie., will it just display standard tv??? Or will it not work and therefore I should wait until we actually have the hd tv?? thanks... diitto...

Depends on the reciever.

Likely it'll have a 4:3 pull-down output for VCRs / DVD recorders that you can display on a SD set.

One of my Voom boxes was connected to a 27" SD set and the picture was amazing (letterboxed).
