Getting ready to add a HD receiver to my StarChoice. Right now I have Buffalo locals. Was thinking of shifting to Detroit locals when I add HD. If I'm figuring right that would give me east coast times on HD and one hour latter on regular. In effect time shifting on US networks. Would this work? And would the receiver report east coast times, or midwest times? I wouldn't want the time off by an hour.

Detroit and Buffalo are in the same time zone; so programs are on the same time.

5 Detroit and 3 Seattle (no ABC/PBS) HD are in the package. I switched my SD to Spokane.

The IPG will read the correct time at your "address" regardless of the programming selected.

Keep your Buffalo SD nets and if you can have a West coast feed, get Spokane

Then you would have Buffalo in SD, Detroit (except NBC which is Buffalo) in HD
Spokane in SD and Seattle (sans ABC) in HD

The time is whatever your setup for. Mine is an hour ahead (no biggie as I set the VCR an hour ahead too :)
