Hopper questions

I've got uverse and am thinking about switching to dish mainly for the hopper. And I've got a couple of questions. First, I've got 2 tv's one in the living room and one in the bedroom what would be the advantage or reason for having 2 hoppers as opposed to one hopper and one Joey ?

And second I see that on the back of the hopper there are 2 USB ports and an eSATA port for an external hard drive. Does this mean I can hook up an external hard drive and pull shows off my hopper onto an external hard drive? And if so could I then hook that external hard drive to my pc and put those shows on my computer and burn them to DVD ?
