I have a receiver mystery. 3 years ago I bought a Captive Works Ultima receiver. First receiver I ever bought. I got it for blind scans. Soon after I found out it wasn't very good with Blind Scans. So I shelved it. Today I drug it off the shelf and set it up so I could demo it and possibly sell it. I set up 97W G19 first. all good. Later I entered the Sat List, I found satellites in the list that didn't exist at the time I bought it, ie SES 1 & SES 2. Now I really don't know how that was possible. I did not edit the list.

Maybe it updated from a TP on 97? Brian might be sending up a list of satellites for the Glorystar & MicroHD units that your Captive Works can read and update itself...
Kind of cool!

Brian does update satellite names for the Glorystar receivers so a software upgrade changes that. I dont think Micro is part of that yet

I never have done an update to this receiver. It has ver1.0 firmware. I saw an update for this in a list of firmwares, but have never found a place to get it. I thought of the idea that G19 might be responsible, but GS receivers don't update the sat list without doing a system software update, right? I would think that feature would be remarkable and I have never heard of a receiver doing a sat list update on the fly. But then I never saw a receiver that comes with game controllers and Nintendo emulation like this one either. It also uses an external USB drive for DVR and Media Player

Glorystar receivers you can set them to do an auto update on G19 but I thought that checked only once a week

The satellite list is updated on the GEOSATpro DSR100, 200 and DVR1100 receivers during the channel list update, not the firmware update. The microHD will also be enabled to update the satellite and TP information during the Channel List Upgrade. The update stream that we place on G19 is only recognized by GEOSATpro receivers and itis streaming 24/7 on several transponders.

Captive Works receivers are not capable of automatic updating from our stream, but they may read the satellite ID or tables.

so we go to option B then

Gremlins :)
Yeah those little buggers, they obviously made me forget about playing with that receiver and editing the sat list. I mean that's the only way it could have happened, logically thinking. But boy is my memory swiss cheezing. I don't even have the slightest memory of doing that.

Yes sir, they are wonderful. With that CW receiver and the way it blindscans I found 121 transponders 520 channels FTA on 97W, using my modded SuperDish. Now I understand what that receiver is doing. It always looks for Band-Stacking. Even though there is no mention of those in the Antenna setup, and no way to prevent this thing from making 4 scans logging each service four times. Gremlins! When I had it on my CBand dish ( no Band-Stacking) it only made two scans logging everything twice, but still scanned for stacked frequencies.
