hello, T3 is a term that was used to name/describe a certain speed/broadband connection from back in the ADSL era, then the Cable modem and residential DSL era came in, basically before these 2 current services that we now call high speed interenet or broadband, and way before it was affordable for homeowners,,only businesses could pay the cost of large( what was considered large back then )bandwidth , now remember at around the same time dial up service was only 14.4 kbs{ if even that fast}, no one was even talking megabytes let alone computers having 28.8kbs or the later 56k, then came 128 modems, , , T1=1 meg, T2=2 megs, and T3=3megs,,,well you can see how those terms were dropped when homes and now even cell phones and laptops can obtain those dowload speed,, hope this helps..these speeds are now common place!!
