Its always a combination of size versus quality with video.

I rip dvds to ipod touch using Cucusoft ipod converter. At its highest quality, a 43 minute (1 hour tv show) uses about 300-400M, depending on the video. I rip into mpeg4 format.

Cant you only watch videos in mp4 or quicktime anyway? If there is another format, send me a message so I can try that format too.
