Lincoln, NE - Local HD question

So last week people in the Lincoln, NE market got their locals in HD, including me. Only 1 problem, how come Fox 4 & 17 ksnb/ktvg is not broadcasting HD? It appears in the announcment that they didn't even sign on to broadcast their channel in HD on Directv.

This sucks - I can't pick up their digital signal on antennae.

anyone know what the deal is or if were getting it later?

Apparently they are still 2 to 3 months from being able to broadcast in HD. I picked this up from a discussion in another forum where someone quoted their engineer.

I requested a waiver for the national feed last week and received a reply from the station manager of channel 4 that he was forwarding my request to someone else. I haven't heard anything but I don't have high hopes. It doesn't sound like they are willing to grant HD or SD waivers but you may want to give it a try.

I read in the Lincoln paper a few weeks ago that a few of the stations owned by the same company are in bankruptcy. Perhaps problems at the corporate level are hindering their conversion to HD.
