Linux and WiFi cards

Has anyone had any success setting up WiFi cards in Linux? I'm running Fedora on a Dell Vostro 1500 with a Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN mini-card. Trying to set up the WiFi card is kicking my butt, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Using D600 with internal WiFi, Ubuntu and second PCMCIA card - no problem.
Search Linux org and other site...

Here's a link that shows how to do it in Ubuntu but someone in another forum used it on their Fedora install and it worked like a charm. Remember to use the Fedora package manager.. is it Yum or maybe you are using Apt which is very useful in a rpm he11 environment?
