Local affiliates trash HD programming Tuesday Night

Well, it looks like the local network affiliates here don't have any ability to do graphics in HD, so all the stuff that is usually HD was instead broadcast in SD, shrunk to about 60% in one corner with election results and graphics filling the rest of the screen.

I had some extra time and watched a baseball world series game and saw something similar the video was in high definition, but the current game statistics overlay display was blurry or really low definition.

I guess we were lucky here.... None of the HD signals were trashed up with election stuff.

Most of our stations still can't do graphics over hd. I really liked what ABC in Detroit did. They had the SD ABC feed on the left 70% of the screen, then a bar with major local races on the right 30%. Plus the minor elections scrolling on the bottom bar. Looked cool and was easy to follow.

Believe it or not, my local ABC, CBS, and NBC had no election tickers on the HD feeds. If the show was broadcast in HD, they sent it on in HD ! If you wanted election news and tickers you had to tune to the analog feed.

OKC FOX kept House in HD last night. That's all I really care about.

I wish our Fox did that. They dropped House to SD to show the bloody tickers. They even ran in the crawl that the show was in SD due to the ticker thingy.

Yeah I only experienced the problem during part of House.

All of Standoff was fine.

in the day of the internet, it's really ridiculous that they have to have this extra crap running over a program. go online if you want to be up to date or just wait until 10 or 11 o' clock
